The Reliant Park Center hosts many sporting events and conventions each year. The largest of which are the Houston Texans, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and the Grand Prix of Houston.

The Texas Medical Center, with one of the highest densities of clinical facilities for patient care, basic science, and translational research of any location, is the largest medical district in the world.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, also called RodeoHouston, is the world's largest livestock exhibition, as well as the world's largest rodeo event. The 20 day event is held at Reliant Park in Houston and features bull riding, livestock judging, concerts, a parade, a carnival, trail rides, barbecue and wine competitions, shopping, sales, and auctions. Traditional trail rides, which start in different areas of Texas and end in Houston, precede the Rodeo events.

The Grand Prix of Houston is an annual auto race on the Champ Car World Series circuit. It is held in Houston, Texas, on a temporary course laid out in the parking lot of the Reliant Park Complex.
